Last week the rainy season hit Cotonou with a vengeance. There were problems with flooding and the roads were a mess. I went on an off-ship site tour to visit a few of the projects Mercyships is running on land, such as an agricultural project and the dental clinic. On our way back the heavens opened up and it poured! Instantly the the many roadside stands were covered up with pieces of plastic and the streets were emptied of people as everyone ran to huddle in doorways or under trees. It made for some great driving though.
Hey Bonnie !
ReplyDeletewe miss you ! I see on the schedule you are back for nights on the 22nd & 23rd -- is this correct? I was sort of wondering in that you have 5 shifts and then another long stretch off, thought maybe those middle shifts were a mistake until I read on the blog before this one that you were due back in a week. Let me know either way, ok? see you soon, Jackie Bourdages
Yes Jackie they are a mistake!!! I am not back in Canada until August 15 and start work August 18. Those shifts should have been either LOA or banked time off. I'm not sure where the confusion came in except maybe when they paid out some of my banked time off earlier...I hope you check this but I will try email you too!!
